“The excitement is building!” – the tagline for the downtown Sunnyvale development, now sounds like a bad punchline.
Still it seems like some progress is being made with the recent demolition of the Town and Country center. I also see a lot of activity around the apartment buildings. Ironically, the contentious apartments which were an ever increasing concession to the one time developers, now look like they will be the first to be finished.
Like many other locals, I am waiting – and waiting – for the cineplex. Not sure when, or even if it’s still in the plans, but I’m looking forward to seeing a blockbuster or two there.
